VC4A and ABAN will be hosting the 7th edition of the Africa Early Stage Investor Summit (#AESIS2020) from 3-4 November 2020. This year the annual industry-insider event for Africa’s early-stage investor community will be fully virtual.
This past year has shown more clearly than ever, that in today’s world, innovative startups are part of the backbone for Africa’s most critical industries: financial services, food supply, healthcare, education, energy, transportation and logistics. Not only is the significance and the role of the startup industry clearer than ever before, but the investment opportunity is also quickly being realized with record level deal-making, and headlines announcing a regular flow of exit mergers and acquisitions for the first time. Simultaneously, the digital divide is more visible than ever before. As early-stage investors take a more prominent role in shaping the future of the continent, the responsibilities to do this right also increase.
